Baldwin's Book Barn in PA to close
Sorry the title should read "for sale"

Although I live in Oregon I am from Chester Country PA(west of Philly). Baldwins Book Barn in southern Chester County has been a treat for me over the years. Its what it sounds like- a huge old dairy barn converted into a used (and new) book store.

If you love books this place is a delightful collection of old and rare books and some not so rare. It opened at its current site in 1946 and currently has some 200,000 books in the collection with some as much as 200 years old. The current (2nd generation) owners are retiring and selling the business.

I doubt I am in a position to purchase the business but I have sent them an inquiry anyway just in case. I hope whoever does purchase it keeps the old book business going.

There's another Book Barn in Nazareth (about an hour north of Philly) that just closed. At first that's what I thought you were talking about.
