Question Dot on my kindle (International)?

I bought a new Kindle International edition in November bc my Mom took my Kindle 2. Now there is a dot in the middle of my screen. It looks like a spot. I tried cleaning it but it appears to be a flaw in the screen. I can still read but the dot bothers me.
Anyone else run into this issue? Will Amazon replace it?

Thanks

It sounds like a defect in the screen display. You might try doing a reset but I think you need to call Amazon CS - they have simply replaced the entire unit when there is an actual defect on the screen.

Use the excellent CS amazon offers to find out.

Wow the CS is very good. I had never used it in years of using amazon.
They walked me through the reset but the black dot stayed even when the unit was completely off.
They are shipping me a new unit ahead of my return so I wont be without a Kindle. I wonder if everyone has such a good experience? I have been a loyal customer for years and this is my 3rd Kindle.

Very pleased with the experience.

Hi there,

I receivd my Kindle DX international a couple of weeks ago. A few days after it arrived, I noticed a black speck behind the screen that looked like it might have been dust or a piece of dirt about the size of a period.

It wouldn't have been such a big deal except it would reflect light at a certain angle and create a shiny spot that was a distraction when reading.

My experience with Amazon CS has usually been top notch and sure enough they sent out a replacement. I received the replacement a few days ago, and I did a thorough spot check.

Now guess what? Today I discovered a similar spot on the new kindle that I'm sure was not there yesterday. Amazon is sending a second replacement, but now I'm a bit concerned I won't be able to 'spot' any defect right away.

I'm curious; has anyone else encountered an issue like this?
