Got my Jetbook Lite today!

It's a lot smaller than I thought, but it's nice. I'm 1/3 through my first book already. Transferred some of the public domain stuff that I had onto a 4GB SD card that I picked up at Staples, I was going to grab a reader too, but I remembered that my laptop has a built in reader so that saved me a few bucks, the SD card itself was $12.99.

Imported the books into Calibre, copied them onto the SD card, put the card in the JBL and they looked a little funky so I tried telling Calibre to only put the Epub version onto the card, but they were still showing up as PDF's. Figured out that I had to actually convert them using Calibre, Duh! Then they copied fine. Some of the spacing is a little funky, but very readable. I had read here that Epub was the best format for the JBL, so that's what I tried.

I'm SO excited! I do have one book that won't load, says the file size is too big. I had told Calibre to chunk it up if it was over a sertain size, I left it at the default because I thought it would be ok, but I'm going to have to play around with it some more.

Did I mention that I was excited?

YAY!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I got it from Newegg, and it was laready updated to the latest firmware, v15. I think that a few people were asking that question a little while ago.

.

From an earlier thread I started:

Sometimes, even though the ePub's internal .html files are split into the
smaller files, I get the "File Too Large" error when trying to read a Calibre
conversion from an "ereader2html" file/folder to an ePub file/ebook.

I must be missing something in the process.

Any tips?

Luck;
Ken

P.S. One work around I found is to go ereader2html>pdb>ePub, which
works fine (except that the apostrophe gets turned into a question mark
for some reason)

You may get the book to fit on the JBL if you go from whatever you
have now, to pdb, then to ePub.

( I don't see how you put in a link to another thread. It was in this forum,
on 7 Jan, I think.)

Congratulations! I got mine from newegg this month also. I don't think mine has the latest firmware, and I didn't update it yet, its working fine the way it is.

I'm waiting for my jetBook too

Congratulations! I'm waiting for my jetBook to arrive here in Brazil too. Bought the graphite jetBook from NewEgg and I think I'll need to wait at least to weeks before to get it in my hands. While I'm waiting for this, this forum is being a great source of information for me.

I would like you fellow forum members to please bear with me for my poor english. I'm a self learner of the english language so feel free to PM me about my orthographic and grammar errors so I can edit the posts and fix them.

Congrats James! Isn't it great that there is so much available to read now, and we are only in the beginning of the use of eBooks and their readers.

Welcome celson! I am confident that if you get into the habit of reading classic literature, your English will improve without effort!
