PRS-600 Pitfalls in Pre-installed Software

Well cant wait for my brand new PRS-600, my very first eReader, Have loads of free classic books already, read all the reviews, Have the latest ADE, Calibre and 3.1 Reader software installed on my Vista laptop, all runing well, but I have to wait a month before I can afford my new treasure, so can i leave all the software on the PC or do i need to remove it and install Reader etc from the PRS-600 and then reinstall calibre and ADE ???? Any advice ?

You can leave all the software and just plug in the reader when you get it — no need to uninstall/re-install anything.

Thnx dmapr thats good to know, lets hope all goes well, boy i'm counting down in seconds to gretting my shiny new Black PRS-600, ......Santa was very very late this time !!!

Yep Scion .....and he wont be coming again for quite a while ....I've used up all my "Brownie Points" .... and the wife WON't let me forget you can bet on that !!!

I used up my brownie points for the 900. I'll need to replenish in time for an end-of-year treat!

Looking for a tablet as a netbook alternative.

Well I hope Scion the PRS-900 is as good as it sounds ....Good Luck with the end of year treat ........Believe me I owe Big Time ..... out of interest why returned on the PRS-600 ? if thats not being rude to ask ?

During that time the 900 wasn't available for a hands-on so essentially it was a choice between the 600 and the 300. I preferred the touchscreen so I went with the 600. I returned the 600 (purchased online) for a replacement due to dust specks between the e-ink screen and touchscreen. While waiting for the replacement I made the trek to a SonyStyle store just to make sure I did not want the 900. I preferred the 900 (thought the extra $100 bucks was worth it) and changed my replacement request for the 600 to a refund request. I was very happy with the 600 for the few hours that I had it; loved the silver, thinness, and form factor.

Thnx Scion I cant wait for the 600, it will be my first, and i was just curious, read so many conflicting reviews and opinions, but still love the 600, i cant read real books well now, Eyesight failing badly, so the 600 is great, we have much less choice of readers and thier more expensive here, quite a bit....$420 for a 600 so like i said i owe BIGTIME !
