PRS-600 Does anyone know how to tell if its a refurb?

I bought a PRS-600 off ebay (wanted the bing cashback) that was sold as new. Now I see that sony sells refurbs as well.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell a new device from a refurbished one?

To start with, Refurb does not mean defective and repaired. Most are customer returns or never shipped to a customer - cases of buyer's remorse.

I prefer buying computers from Dell refurb - I have never gotten one that was other than unused.

New PRS-600s come in a factory sealed package. If it is an open package it should not have been sold as new.

If it's refurbished, it will say that on the box. I don't have any problems with refurbished electronics.

I just bought a refurbished PRS-300 from Sony Style and it has a sticker saying "Refurbished" on it. Otherwise, I can't tell the difference.
