New Calibre install won't start/seg faults on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit

I just tried to install Calibre for the first time today and it will not run. I get the setup screens and then nothing.

I looked through the forums but didn't find anyone with the same output when running calibre-debug -g

Code:

~$ calibre-debug -g

** (<unknown>:3634): CRITICAL **: atk_object_set_name: assertion `name != NULL' failed
link  hasn't been detected!
link  hasn't been detected!
Segmentation fault

I tried removing and reinstalling, removing all the ~/.calibre and .config/calibre files and nothing changed.

When did ubuntu last update?

please post output of uname -a

How did you install calibre?

I installed it using apt-get, also tried with aptitude.

uninstall it and try the binary version from the calibre website. If you want to stick with the version from aptitude, I can't really help as I don't maintain it.
