Hello from Belgium

Hi,

A new MobileRead user from Belgium. I'm actually following these forums for a couple of weeks already, but wanted to register to be able to better track new posts.

My experience with eReaders is non-existing. I'm currently looking into acquiring one. I'm especially interested in using if for bring-your-own-pdf's (most computer related study books come in this format). I'm not interested in a device that is tied to a specific store; hence no iPads, Nooks or Kindles for me.

So far my short list contains these readers:
Asus DR-950:
- not available yet
+ affordable

Irex DR800S:
- to expensive
- intelligent pdf zoom missing
- device comes with a stylus but doesn't support annotations (yet?)
+ page turn speed
+ screen quality

Samsung e101
- not available yet
- even more expensive

I've settled for the eSlick in the mean time. It's one of the cheapest devices with, presumably, decent pdf support. At least I can get some experience with eReader devices.

The 8+ inch devices are being delayed further and further anyways. I can always upgrade later on.
