A firmware question for JBL
If my JBL arrives (supposed to be today) and doesn't have latest firmware, do I have to upgrade to it? I am not sure what all it addresses, but I do not have any drm books so it will not be necessary for that. Since a couple of JBL owners seem to have had problems after they upgraded their firmware, is it necessary to upgrade at all? I know I ask a lot of "unusual" (notice I didn't say stupid) questions, and want to say that I appreciate all the information that I have received.

Principle Changes
Ectaco has been very good sending out units with the latest firmware. The last set of changes to 14n are for DRM content. You never have to upgrade your firmware unless you want to.

I put on v15 for my JBL and found it now does a much better job of displaying DRM files: before I couldn't adjust font size, etc. Now I can just fine.
