Use Calibre to read Amazon books on a Bookeen Cybook Opus?
Can I use Calibre to put ebooks I bought off the Amazon site to read on my Booken Cybook Opus? If so, how?
Thanks ![]() |

You need to remove the DRM from the Amazon books and then you can use Calibre to convert.
You need to search for skindle (google will work) |

The easiest way is to buy for Kindle for PC and then use unswindle.pyw. Note that this only works with AZW ebooks, which become DRM-free MOBI. Amazon also has TOPAZ ebooks, which are not yet convertible to be readable on other EInk devices.

Through the efforts of many people, Topaz is convertible.

Thanks for all the great info! I'm also wondering if I can go the same thing with the Sony Bookstore?

If you have the ePub firmware on your Opus, it will read Sony Bookstore ebooks with the DRM intact. You just need to register the same AdobeID with Sony as you use on your Opus. This may happen automatically if you have already used Desktop Adobe Digital Editions to download an ebook.
