Epub geographical restriction

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been dealt with before, Does anyone know if there is an internal restriction for Epub geographical restriction that has not yet been implemented?

I know that stores will not let you buy sometimes, but if say you got round that with gift cards it works for now, but I do not want to spend a lot on buying ebooks only to have them all turn useless with a software update.

There is nothing in the standard or in any current implementation that enforces geographic limitations. The only place it could be done is with DRM and there is no reason to believe this will happen and if it ever did it would not be ePUB specific.
