Kindle for Mac

Still no news as to when the Kindle for Mac application will roll out of the Amazon stable.

Advert here implies they still need developers...

Also makes clear that other platforms will follow, and that they are also focussing on the Kindle-less masses. Wise move

Not very, if you start out with a cross-platform development platform. Otherwise, it might be very time-consuming.

I'm also waiting for this, my primary machine is a Macbook Pro.

I have windows boxes for games and downloads, so I begrudgingly put the Amazon app on it.

I was able to use the Amazon apps on my MacBook Pro by running them in Win 7 using VMWare. When I use the "Unity Mode" it looks like another Mac app. Of course this method requires you to install Windows on your Mac so it wouldn't be cost effective if all you want to do is read your Kindle books.

Yuck.... most cross platform stuff doesn't create a good app for any platform. Although they could do the main engine part in C or Java and then do platform specific front ends... that should save them some time.
