New Opus owner

Have just purchased a Cybook Opus from Waterstones. In store so no waiting for delivery also very good price.

Previously owned Sony 505, 600 and latest 300. An e-book addict you might say.

I love the Opus for compact size and weight and clear screen. Folder system took a bit of getting used to. Very grateful for Manual posted on this site.

Only problem so far , I can not add a bookmark to ePub files, only to Text files. Can anyone help?

At this point the Opus doesn't support bookmarking in ePub files.

Welcome to MobileRead! I hope you enjoy the forum. I've got an Opus a week ago too, but I've gone to Mobipocket.

Thank you for all your welcomes.
I sent my query to Bookeen support and got a quick helpful reply with details of how to change to Mobipocket if I want bookmarks, but I am reading all the caveats about upgrading in the upgrade thread and will have to think about it again.

What problems? I've done it at Cybook Gen3 and at Cybook Opus, and I haven't had any problem. Obviously, you always can have any problem, nothing is fault-free but...

Next question to all you kind helpful people. How do you add books to the micro card and access from the reader? The only way I could get a book on to the card was by copying on my computer but when I put the card back in the Opus it couldn't see the books.

If you have the "folder view" enabled in the library, you need to navigate right up to the top level of the file system, at which point you'll see two folders, "CyBook" (the internal memory) and "SD Card" (the memory card). Select the latter, and then navigate down the tree to wherever you've put your books.

It would be better, by the way, to ask such questions in the "CyBook" forum; a lot more people will see them there!

Thank you Harry. Very helpful. I am a new Mobileread forum user, in fact I have never joined a forum before so I am finding the site difficult to navigate but I'm getting there.
Is it allowed to start a new subject in the current thread or does one start a new thread? I ask because I see you list an iPod touch and I am tempted to get one and would like some comments.

It is best to have separate threads for separate questions. Keeps things easier to manage, that way.

I have discovered what the problem is with accessing the SD card on the Opus. If the card is already inserted when I switch on, the Opus can't see it. If I take it out and re-insert it appears, or if I switch on first then insert the card.

Is this a fault with my reader or are they all the same?
