iRex Iliad arrived!

My Iliad just arrived.
I took some photos (that didn't work too well...i'm just too nervous right now) that I am now uploading to Flickr.

I'll post links as soon as it's done...

so what was the shipping packaging like, plently of foam?

No foam...pretty risky packaging in my case, but i got mine straight from Eindhoven...so it wasn't packaged very thorougly. It also used a standard UPS express box...looks like they were really rushing it...but the Iliad survide without a scrtch (the device in it's own box is well packed, only the box in the UPS package had a little too much free spave around it...)

i'm just so excited!!!

So, how's the screen, now you're finally seeing it live? As good as expected, totally paper-like? I can imagine your trembling hands, mine will be too when I get it (seven months is a loooong time to wait!).

The screen is pretty good...very suprising..

It's not quite as white as some paper, but very very comfortable to look at..

What is pretty confusing is, that you dn#t really notice when the device powers down automatically, because the screen just stays...^^

I was already suspecting a crash, but luckily that wasn't it...^^

Yeah, I remember reading they were considering washing the screen out on power down, to avoid confusion, lol. And the size? Is it like holding a book?

one of my SD cards (corsair) doesn't work, the sandisk extreme II works...strange...

The size is very good..but I haven't read anything yet, so you'll have to wait a bit for my final conclusion on ergonomics.
It's got a good grip and the weight doesn't feel too bad...but time will tell there...^^
