Recommendations for Dictionary, Thesaurus?
I've been shopping for an ebook dictionary and thesaurus. There's lots out there, everything from a vest pocket for a couple dollars to a college dictionary for over $20. Similarly for thesaurus's (thesauri?). Oh, and a good grammar reference would be nice. Every once in a while we meet in a writer's group, and questions arise that could be answered with one of these references.
Unfortunately the description for the $5 dictionary is pretty much the same as for the $17 one. So it's hard to make a rational decision. Number of entries is one measure, but I'd like a feel for the quality and depth of the definitions. Has anyone got some good recommendations for reference books that you've found really useful on an ereader? |

That would be Webster's Dictionary. Here are a few links to make life easier:

It's a great, easy to use, reference. Unfortunately I don't think you can get it as an ebook, but since it's online as well, you could make your book perhaps. Or, at those group meetings there's certainly a computer with web access nearby? |

Unfortunately, no there isn't any web access where we meet (other than through my cell phone which is very slow). That's why I've been looking for a standard reference for the eReader.
And thanks everyone for the suggestions. |

The "standard" grammar reference for British English is probably "Fowler and Fowler" (aka "Fowler's Modern English Usage". I very much doubt that it's available as an eBook, but it's a "pocket sized" volume, and one of those books that everyone interested in grammar really should have.
