Able to mark up documents?

I have to proofread a lot of word documents and was wondering if the Pocket Pro allows any way to mark up a document. Someone else on the forums summed it up this way, which pretty much sums up my needs:

--Proofreading and marking a document (not editing, just marking the errors for editing elsewhere), so you can proofread anywhere instead of at your desktop.

If you can't do this on the Pocket Pro, are there any devices that do have this feature? I don't need anything fancy, just some way to indicate where there's an error.

Thanks.

I doubt that the current devices would do what you want. The closest model on the market is probably the Sony 600, since you can write directly on the screen and have those markings associated with that page. There were some squawks from the Sony users about difficulties getting those marks back on to their computers, but I don't remember the details. You might want to ask over on the Sony forum if any of them worked that out.

Alternatively, there are a bunch of new readers making their debut at CES right now, including several that have touch screens. Astak will likely be selling touch screen models this spring. No details yet on how well any of these readers will work or if they'll allow what you're trying to do, but if you can wait a few months, you might find lots of choices.

Welcome Moroz!

The Pocket Pro does not have document marking up from within the device.

However, there are some new models coming out made by Jinke (same manufacturer as the Pocket Pro). These are called the A6 and the A9. Here is some more information about it (generous thanks go to Igorsk from this thread in the News and Commentary forum). Both models will have the option of either keyboard or touch screen (capacitive). I have marked up in magenta what may be of particular interest to you!

The Sony PRS-600 is excellent for marking up documents. That's exactly what I use mine for.
