please help if anyone can-sony update.

i have tried to access the reader store and i am told there is an update version 3.1.when trying to download this it asks me where i am i.e u.s.a,u.k etc.i bought my reader in the u.s.a but live in the u.k-so i may sound a little dim here,but do i put in the u.s.a or the u.k for where i live as i dont know if there is any difference in the actuall reader,its a prs505.i dont want the download to affect me being able to transfer my purchases from books on board and other sources.sorry if anyone has asked this question before.any help much taken and appreciated.thank you.

On the previous reader had you registered to the US Sony Reader Store or to the UK sites?
If you live in the UK, we don't have access to the Sony Store as it is US only. Now although you could register to it, I suspect that if you tried to buy anything it may not let you as you won't have a US address or CC.

To actually install the software, it doesn't matter what you say as you can always change it after installation. It is a menu option.
The only thing it does is direct you to either the US Sony Store to buy books, or to a set of weblinks for WHSmith, Waterstones or Mills & Boon in the UK.

thank you for that,i get my books from the store as i have a source to get gift cards for the us store-its good to be in the know about some things,lol!i put that i am in the u.s.a and all appears to be working.fingers crossed.
