Can read the lrf?

Hello.

I´ve visited the Sony´s web, and I asked in a post, but I don´t Know if the 900 can read without problem the "old" lrf format. Any owner can answer?

Another question: I would know how read the epub, if the 900 justify the text in the right correct or so bad so 600.

Thanks.

The 900 does not support lrf.
I heard that it supports full justification for epubs, but don't take my word for it.

So, It´s a bad new. I don´t understand the Sony´s decisions.

Sony has stopped selling lrf ebooks, and I heard that they actually try to stop you loading them on your 600 through their software, even though it supports them.

Instead they encourage you to download the epub versions from their store for free. So if you bought your lrf ebooks from sony, check if they are available in epub format in the sony store - if so, you can dowload the epub for free. Theoretically all the ebooks they ever sold will be available in epub format, but there are still many cases where you only find a "not available yet" message.

If your ebooks are drm-free, you can easily convert them with calibre to any other format, like epub.

However, I'm not sure if the wireless capabilities of the 900 will work in Europe.. Probably not, I would guess.

I have the 900 and it will display the old format as long as they are not DRM'd. I have an LRF on mine that I downloaded from here and it displays fine.

The manual says as long as they don't have DRM you are good to go, and if they do have DRM then you need to go to Sony's store and re-download them in ePub.

Cool LRX vs LRF

LRF has no DRM.

LRX 'has' the DRM.

Just for the sake of accuracy, Sony has never sold LRF eBooks. Their store used to sell LRX books, which is the version of the format with DRM.

Sorry, I tend to confuse them, as I have never bought any. They are both the Bbeb format, aren't they? So lrf is supported in the 900, and lrx not, if I understand it correctly..
And no one should really care about the lrx as sony is replacing them and no one else is selling them anyway...Right?
