Just got an unexpected gift from Sony
FedEx came by today and dropped off a box from Sony. I got my Daily Reader a few days ago and thought perhaps this was the 2 year warranty I purchased.
A note on the outside of the box noted a gift for me for being one of the first to purchase the Daily Reader. Inside was a $10 gift card for the Sony Store What a nice gesture! |

What a ridiculously expensive way to send you a gift voucher. Couldn't they just have e-mailed you a voucher code?

Well, it was originally shipped out to those who pre-ordered so it'd reach them on the 18th and act like a consolation prize to tell them their Reader would ship "soon", knowing they'd ship a couple days late.
Seems like they still had a few extras to get rid of. |
