Kindle in the Cockpit

Is anyone else using their e-reader in the cockpit? I loaded Approach Plates and the Airport Facility Directory on it. Coming home the head winds were stronger than expected and we diverted to Havasu for fuel. Every thing I needed was on the Kindle.

A quick video below from Sundays flight.

Well...there's lots of sailing/boating things available in in PDF format. I've started acquiring some for my Sony for our sailing days. (Now I just need to get a waterproof cover for it)!

Madam Broshkina posted image samples of Approach Plates on the Kindle and Sony 505.

There are also several people using them on the DX. There was a hack to keep the
DX from going into sleep mode to keep the plate images on the screen longer but it broke with the 2.3 update.

A cheaper one would be a simple ziplock bag though

I understand Arinc is doing very well with their version of the Irex they call the "eFlyBook". They started selling it in 2006 and are still doing new updates and have even received US Air Force approval for military use.
