Question PRS-700 in Calibre 0.6.27
Just downloaded Calibre, which looks like a pretty cool program. I watched the overview video on the Calibre site, where as an example Kovid selects the PRS-700 as his device. I was interested, once Calibre was installed, to find that the PRS-700 is no longer a choice under Sony. Since that is the device I have, this seems to be a concern. The choices are Sony PRS-500 or Sony Reader Pocket/Touch Edition. Would selecting the Sony Reader Pocket/Touch Edition give Calibre what it needs to handle books and recognize the PRS-700?

Touch is the correct choice for the 700. However, it doesn't matter what you choose as far as detecting the device is concerned. Any supported device will be detected when plugged in. The selection is only for setting up device specific setting. The main one being the screen size for PDF output and splitting for EPUB files.
