				Pocketbook 901 announced
Claimed to be "the world's first electronic textbook". Google does a passable translation, but here I translated some key points myself:

it will probably share the same netronix platform with many other devices - but the pocketbook firmware is very polished and functional. I'm judging from my 301+ the kiev developers have a busy forum in russian proactively collecting feedback from users and issuing updated versions of firmware once every couple of months shame about the glass screen though, I've already sat on mine once and had to pay 150 bucks for a replacement |

Yeap, i'll probably wait until plastic if i deside myself for one of these. Shipping cost to ukraine would hurt. |

Ah. Nice. Since we don't have the Kindle DX here in Europe yet and Plastic Logic won't tell us at least until the Que proReader presentation at CES if they will deliver to the european market from the start on this could be an interesting alternative. |

Strange! Seems to have no touchscreen, although Netronix carries it as having one! Maybe the touchscreen wouldn't work well enough so they canned it!

This is the first model in the 9" range, aimed specifically at the education market and developed to be cheap and light. Thus no touchscreen, wireless and so on. The 902 will be marketed for B2B segment and will have all the bells and whistles.

They have service centres in several former soviet capitals, including Moscow, and there's one in Israel too. I'm sure if they decide to market it in Europe they will have to open a few centres there as well

Yeah, the tactile one is what i need, as tactile, or a keyboard à la kindle, seams to be the only decent way for notes. | |

Very nice indeed - if plastic eInk-Screens become available we will see a lot of larger devices these days |

Woh that's a big one! Plastic screen is hopefully not too fragile. A very nice alternative for regions without DX or people who just hate Amazon. Again, though, the case looks like it was designed in the 80s. Why don't these companies hire some talented hardware designers who also value aesthetics. |
