FileOpen DRM Plugin
Does anybody know more about the FileOpen-Plugin and how it interweaves with the Adobe system?

I used Lizardtech virtual printer for that, no loss in quality and outpout djvu was usually half the size of original pdf.

The downside is that It doesn't work on Win 7 so I used Virtual XP from time to time to convert some documents.

That only works for documents you are allowed to print out and with that you don't remove the DRM (you loose metadata and scalable fonts/pictures).
