Do Not Disconnect Screen isn't going away

I have a new PRS-300. I am using Sony Ebook Library for the Mac to sync.

When I connect the ereader to the computer, the Do Not Disconnect screen comes up on the reader. After I am finished, I will hit the eject button and the Reader will disappear from Ebook Library window. However, most of the times the Do Not Disconnect screen stays on the ereader. A few times it has gone away immediately, but others it will stay on indefinitely. I do go ahead and disconnect it (since I can't do anything else), but I am concerned that this is a malfunctioning unit.

Is this normal and just a problem with the Mac version of the software?

I have the same issue on my laptop (Windows XP). I go ahead and disconnect it anyway and haven't noticed any problems so far, but I too am wondering...

I have the same issue on my Mac. I make sure the 2 'external disks' are ejected and then just disconnect.

I don't get this with Caibre - only the awful Sony software.

I get the same thing with both Calibre as well as the Sony Software - using Windows Vista here. So far I have not noticed any harmfull effects from it, I daresay it's a superficial bug in the readers firmware.

I use Calibre on my Mac too, and ejecting my 300 using Calibre works 90 - 95% of the time

Thanks. It seems that it is a common problem. It appears to be ejecting properly from the computer so hopefully we won't see any problems longer term.
