eReader for Android - trapped in a single chapter?

Is anyone else having issues with the recently released eReader for Android app? I installed it on my HTC Hero and downloaded one of my purchased books from my Fictionwise account directly to my phone.

eReader opens the book but when I attempt to read it, I seem to get trapped in a single chapter. When I reach the end of chapter one and page down, I'm taken back to the beginning of the same chapter. The file itself hasn't been truncated as I can directly navigate to any chapter by opening the table of contents and selecting a new chapter. But every time I reach the end of a chapter, it goes back to the beginning of the same chapter.

Quite frustrating.

Guess I'll stick with converting my purchases to ePub format and reading them on FBReaderJ for now.

That has been an issue with some of my ereader books on the Android client. Try erasing the book and re-downloading it. That worked for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that a couple of times to no avail. Guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled for an updated version.

I had the same problem, and found a workaround:

When you first download and open the ebook, wait for the entire book to load before doing any scrolling/reading through the book. You can tell if the entire book has loaded by hitting "Menu" then "Contents" to view the table of contents for the ebook. When you first load the ebook, you might only see one or two chapters listed in the table of contents. Wait until you see all the chapters (plus index, notes, etc) listed in the table of contents before reading the ebook.

Once the entire book's loaded, you should have no problem reading through the book without encountering the infinite loop.
