Deleting my account?

I don't see offhand how to delete my account. Can that be done? Maybe I missed it somewhere...

What do you mean by "delete"?

You can:
* remove all the text of all your posts (but not your text quoted in someone else's post)
* remove all personal info in your profile
* post viagra spam, which will get your account banned*

But as far as I know, there's no way to make it as if your account had never existed.

*No, I'm not really suggesting you do this. A polite message to a moderator will probably get your account closed, so you can't log in any more.

That's not usually an option on most forums. I suspect they "roll off" after some period on non-use.

Maybe you could ask the moderators or administrator to remove you.

It is probably something that can be done by a System Admin... I'm not sure I am able to do it as an editor.

PM Alexander Turic and ask him to delete your account.

I'm not sure what you loose by it not being deleted.

Pilotbob is correct.
You could ask a moderator to ban you, but your posts would still show up, unless we chose to delete those too.
The site-owner, Alexander Turcic could delete your account, so that there isn't a "banned" next to your name.

On the other hand, you could delete your own posts and cease to log in. This would have a similar effect.

carlobee, he may have disagreed with our decision that certain topics (e.g. mass shootings) are better discussed in other communities.

I honored his request and deactivated his account.
