The Kindle DX is a very poor choice for PDF. Yes, it will display PDFs, but that's all it does - display them. No table of contents, no hyperlinks, no searching, no annotation, no dictionary lookup; no anything, really.
Gwyn is right - the iRex DR1000 is a much, much better choice (but at a price). There should be an explosion in larger-screen devices coming out in the next year, so it may be better to wait a while. |

Hi
It looks to be general that the Irex is a better option… still much more expensive and with other less positive things… like much less battery time for use. With Amazon getting the “normal” kindle international, people are expecting that an international DX will follow… probably early next year. If you can wait and want to get “everybody else’s” use - like 3G in it… it’s an option. If not, you can try eBay or if you have someone in the US with a US address and credit card, you can try to have them to buy the actual version for you… and a positive part is, if you are in the euro land, the DX costs really much less then the Irex because of the money conversion. Best regards, |

But I really must repeat my caution about the DX for PDFs. It's really not a good choice. |

You can use shipito.com. I used them to purchase US only items, they are reliable. Of course, be aware that you would have to return it to the US for repair (if you should ever have any problems with it) and that the Irex DR is a better, though much more expensive, option.
