Ubuntu 9.10 error - Unhandled exception - typeerror
I just installed Calibre on my ubuntu box after using it on my xp box for a long time and I can't get it to work. It won't recognize my PRS-505 (mounted or unmounted) and If I try to go to the Preferences menu I get the following error popup:
ERROR: ERROR: Unhandled exception: <b>TypeError</b>:<lambda>() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) TypeError: <lambda>() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) |

0.6.19 is not compatible with PyQt 4.6. Either wait for 0.6.20 or downgrade PyQt to 4.5.x

Oh, I figured it was something like that. It seems that everyone who posts with Ubuntu problems usually end up having a Python problem. I guess I will wait. I can still use it on my XP box until then.
Thanks for the great program (and the great support). |

I just wanted to thank you for adding a port for Ubuntu. The install couldn't have been simpler using the software manager. I also got the same error, and will wait for the upgrade.

Also running Ubuntu 9.10 upgrade to 0.06.21 added one book (PDF) and Converted to LRF and sent it to the SD card on my Sony PRS-505> That all worked, but when I went to quit Calibre I got an error message. Thought I had entered a new ticket on the Cailbre site, but just checked and it isn't there! So here is the error message from the clipboard.

Upgrading Calibre in Ubuntu 9.10
I've realized for a while now that if I want the latest and best Calibre, I need to cut and paste into terminal and type in my password! Glad to hear it is something simple that was wrong! I expect it won't be too many days before the next release! They come out quite often, in fact even more often than I actually use Calibre since I don't read magazines and Newspapers with it, just use it to transfer eBooks to my Sony Reader!
