Hope I'm doing this right

I just want to put up a POST not a thread....I think?

I have a Kindle and my computer and have gotten addicted to ebooks. No need to look for the glasses when you can mess with the font.

okay ebook reader question ONE

I get my books in the kindle format or in PDF. What method do you recommend for my computer since PDF doesn't seem to be available? I'm dreadful at converting files to send to the Kindle. I've managed a couple of times but usually end up just reading on my lap-top

Thanks!

Kate

(btw I have a freebie PDF of a book at my blog. Should I bother saving it in other formats?)

Okay......heres what I do, and remember its just me. Someone else here might have a different perspective, which is what makes us special!

Download Mobipocket Reader, its free.

http://www.mobipocket.com/en/Downloa...sp?Language=EN

Now you can download books from here or anywhere else in mobi format (.prc) Those can be uploaded to your Kindle. They must be drm free tho. Still, the reading is fine.

Calibre (developed by our member Kovid) can be downloaded here:

http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/

I call it my "book organization file." You can change the metadate, organzie by title, author, whatever....Again, all must be drm free . You can also convert your pdf (or many others) file to mobi IF the book is drm free.
