these formats confuse me.. question

is the pocket pro compatabile with

Mobipocket ?

The Pocket Pro supports NON-DRM Mobipocket files. Chances are if you buy an ebook in mobipocket format it has DRM and wont work on the Pocket Pro. If the book is available as Adobe Digital Editions (as most of their books are) they will work fine on the Pocket Pro.

Most ebooks you buy have DRM (encryption). The Pocket Pro can read Adobe DRMed ebooks, either PDF ebooks or ePub ebooks. Adobe PDF ebooks are sometimes just called Adobe ebooks or Adobe Digital Editions ebooks. In any case, if an ebook is identified as Adobe then the Pocket Pro can read it. In this case, diesel-ebooks has a Adobe PDF version of the ebook. Note that PDFs don't always display as well as ePubs, but they are usually ok. Books on Board is one good source of Adobe ePubs, but in this case it again has a PDF version.

If you don't mind learning how to remove DRM, the Pocket Pro can read DRM-free MOBI (or you could convert the DRM-free MOBI to ePub using Calibre).

The entire Sony store is supposed to switch to Adobe ePub by Christmas. They often have low prices. These will have DRM, but will be readable on the Pocket Pro.
