Is someone actually going to read and correct typos before selling them? Or just make sure they are ePub?

Just make sure the file has the ".epub" extension, I would guess based on past performance...

I guess by improper formatting is that they mean there is issues with the file, or something else that makes it difficult to read.

They'll make sure the file converts to ePub and can open. They may (or may not) fix things like "half-inch column of text with 1" borders on the PRS device" or "whole book is in 36 pt type; eight words on a page."

They will not fix typos; those aren't "formatting" errors.
