Sony 300 fan

I recently purchased a Sony Pocket 300 and so far I'm pleased with its lightweight no-bells-and-whistles capability.

I'm an ebook author and reader, and would like to find a nice leather case for my Pocket 300. The Sony ones are "meh", but Case Logic's model is too bulky. A cover as slim and lightweight as my Pocket would be ideal.

Welcome! Happy to hear the 300 fits your fancy. Good luck with the cover search.

Is Pirates Price the first of your 3 books available on Amazon? Or, do your books stand alone.

Thanks

Hi Darlene and welcome to MobileRead. I have MEdge covers for my Sony 505. I've both the Leisure and Executive covers and am pleased with both. Their web site (http://www.buymedge.com/products/) doesn't show any covers for the 300 but you might give them a call.

Thanks, I'll check that site out. It may be too early on the US release of the 300 for nice covers to start showing up. I even cruised through Levenger's to see if they had a wallet/portfolio that might work, but nothing yet.

The books stand alone, but they all have characters that pop up across them. When I write secondary characters I have a hard time letting them go.[g]

Having said that, most people read Pirate's Price first, 'cause Smuggler's Bride is set a generation later. My upcoming release, The Bride and the Buccaneer, features the hero of Captain Sinister's Lady in a small role some years before he gets his own book.

Welcome to the 'club'! I'm a 300 fan too. (Also like the 505.) I just got the SOny 'premium' cover--overpriced but basically the same as the 505's stock cover, which works very well for me. Thin, easy to use (just fold it back), and the 300 still fits in my pocket with this cover on. I saw a few other cover options overseas, but none here in the US that are similar (i.e., using the holes in the spine to attach). I gave in and bought the Sony 300 cover, even though I think it should be a pack-in item.

I think I like the Case Logic's model.

If you look very close at the last photo, you can see the four corner straps.
I was originally all for the book style cover, but i've heard a lot of stories of the plastic pins breaking and obviously the quality isn't as high as say the MEdge covers.
Also most people want to fold the book style cover behind itself when they read. I just want a cover to throw in my bad and protect the screen and this seems like the one they should have put in the first place and not that sorry excuse of a neoprene 'dust cover', because that's all it can do, protect from dust.

300 Update

It's nice, it's lightweight, but my PDF files (which account for 95% of my ebooks) sometimes have strange line breaks and page breaks. I'm not sure if it's the files, or the size at which I'm reading them. I usually keep my Pocket on the "Medium" font setting.

The line breaks are annoying, especially with dialogue, but I'm still liking the portability of the PRS 300. And I'm hoping MEdge will soon come out with an attractive cover for it.
