Ouch! the free PDF is so bloated that each page turn takes about three minutes on my 505. With a lot of cool authors (Michael Bishop, Michael Moorcock, Gene Wolfe), I'll probably pay the $3 for epub at smashwords.

Calibre does not seem to like this book. I cannot get it to format properly in any kind of conversion.

Of course, look at the formatting of the PDF. That is one complex puppy. You can either buy the $3 book at smashwords as mentioned earlier in the thread (worth it IMHO) or if you really don't want to pay AND read it on your Sony you could find a copy of prflrf or similar pdf-to-image-to-lrf software and convert it that way.

I ran it through Mobipocket creator to get it into html then used calibre to convert it to LRF.
The end result was pretty readable but the pictures were out-of-place which is what normally happens.
Only problem was the LRF ended up as 15MB instead of the original 10MB PDF.
Might try removing the pictures from the HTML before converting to LRF and the end result would be pretty good.
