Greetings from long time lurker first time poster
Hi to everyone - or maybe I should say Hi y'all! since I'm a southerner.
I've been reading ebooks for several years now on everything from a Franklin Ebookman to various Palm Pilots to my brand spanking new EZReader Pro. I like this site a lot and have found so much good information on it. It's nice to finally be a member. ![]() |

Hey, tamzilla, welcome to the forums. I'm not Southern, per se, but I understand y'all (I was born and raised in Texas).

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
![]() What's funny is that while my parents are from and I was born in North Carolina, I have no accent (or so I've been told). Sometimes, when I'm out of the state and use "y'all", I get some pretty strange looks - people expect you to have a deep southern drawl if you use terms like y'all. To tell you the truth, I think that y'all might be falling out of usage in Virginia, at least in the urban areas (I live in the Hampton Roads area). I hear 'you guys' more often than y'all and not just from the military folks. |
