Reprise from the title: with a PRS-600 can one use the PS charger like with the 505?

Yes, the 600 can use the same PSP AC Adapter that the 505 uses.

Another little question: would it be possible to charge the Reader from one of the universal car charger adapter, with the proper tip (i.e. the PSP one)? Thank you again!

yes.

I used a Apple USB adapter (that you can plug into the wall) and a USB cable with a USB and psp charger tip, and a mini usb tip, (these are ussually a dollar on dealextreme)

and I was able to charge my 700 on vacation,
and my cell phone which uses mini usb.
