when will the goezebook.com website launch?

Hi Robert,

when will the goezebook.com website (or whatever the site where we can buy ebooks will be named) launch?

Thanks and best regards,

Robert

Robert, why not go directly to Fictionwise to buy ebooks? It all appears as if goezebook is going to utilize the Fictionwise reselling system.

https://www.goezebook.com/ uses a Fictionwise SSL certificate (see attachment)

http://store.fictionwise.com/astak/home.htm is the link to the Reseller Login page.

Tad, I seem to recall Robert saying something about Fictionwise "loaning" them their website designer. Don't know if that has direct bearing on your question, though.

Still planned

Dear All:

www.goEZebook.com is still planned. Everything is laid out and the design is done with all the improvements suggested by MR members.

The problem is that B&N bought Fictionwise. That means every little thing has to be ironed out by B&N. B&N, for example, wants exclusivity ("Thou shalt have no other website and sell no other content). This is made more difficult by Commandment 2: "Thou shalt pay a fee that may hurt a bit".

While Fictionwise continues to be a great friend to us and work with us... B&N takes weeks to iron out legal language and continues not to make speedy decisions of any kind. It is not as simple as "can we strike out this sentence"? You first have to read a book worth of legaleeze to get to what you object to.

We continue to try to get what we need to make an agreement possible on the new website.

Sometimes it's not really so much the fee that hurts... but the manner in which the fee is extracted... *ouch*
