Kindle editions more expensive?

So I have noticed on several occations that Kindle editions of books on Amazon are actually priced higher than the printed editions. I'm sorry if this has been covered before but does anyone know why this is? You can even get the hardcover edition of John Lennon: The life $9 cheaper than the Kindle edition...crazyness lol.

Yeah, that happens a lot. Often, however, the Kindle price will eventually drop to $9.99, but not always.

Every time I see a book I want more than the $9.99, I just list it on the "pending" section of my list of books to purchase with the note to check later. Usually in a week or so it drops down. Be patinet.

Thats good to know. It would be great if they would do a price match guarantee between the Kindle and print editions so you never have to pay more for the Kindle editions but I don't see that happening anytime soon so here I sit waiting patiently to save a few bucks

I've heard repeatedly that if you contact Amazon about the price difference, the price on the Kindle version will typically drop fairly quickly. Sometimes even happens that day. It might be worth the effort for a book you really want.

Actually the Lennon book cited is a case of the reverse happening. I bought it when it came out last fall -- at $9.99.

Yeah, I've noticed that a couple of times. Have you ever found that it eventually reverts to the lower price?

Yes, I've seen a couple of books on my wish list rise and then fall again in price. Perhaps it was when they came out in paperback?

I guess that goes to show how Kindle has been on demand.
