Nothing wrong with giving up DRMed Mobipocket for DRmed ePub. ePub is going to be the format on readers and Mobipocket only have themselves to blame given their silly policy of having to be the only DRM allowed.

This is really good news. In a nutshell, the new BeBook firmware will support ADE DRM epubs and pdfs, but will not feature DRMed Mobipocket anymore (due to Adobe's stupid regulations). It will be possible, though, to switch back and forth between Firmwares. It would be really nice if some user having a BeBook would test this FW.

That would be due to Mobipocket's regulations, not Adobe. Adobe does allow other DRM to be onboard. Sony has BBeB and Adobe DRM. If Mobipocket did not have their restriction, Sony would now have BBeB and Mobipocket. But it worked out better in the end as we have ePub and not Mobipocket.
