Thumbs up another newbie arrives...

Hi, smallhagrid here.
Broke down recently after reading a bazillion reviews and bought me a Jetbook.
Amazing - love at first read.
Of course all these things have their foibles and limitations - the biggie here being the inability to 're-flow' PDF files, so a-searching I went for solutions, and where did that lead me but right here !!!

Nice place BTW, I am enjoying it very much thus far.

Now it's time to ride the learning curve and see which nice, free program is what I need for making things best readable for my tired old eyes - will it be Calibre, Book Cleaner - or some combination of several things - only time will tell.

I am delighted that I landed upon the Jetbook - with all the formats it supports and it's nice screen (and better price...) - but best of all, for me - a guy who absolutely has a book nearby at all times; now I can carry an entire shelf of 'em everywhere I go, Yippee !!!

Welcome smallhagrid. I've been keeping an eye on the Jetbook, but haven't made a decision. I already have 2 readers, so I'm thinking about adding a 5" device maybe later this summer.

We're glad you've joined us at MobileRead.

Thanks Elsi.
Truly I am thinking of the Jetbook as my first - and as they proliferate and get less pricey (one may hope) I will consider another at a later date - but for now it is a wonderful thing which has already enabled me to get and read 2 otherwise very hard to get books !
What could be better ?

Best Wishes,

mark

Welcome to MobileRead, Marc!

Congratulations on your new reader! Be careful, though, these things can be VERY addictive (as is Mobileread ). Calibre is a great piece of software and our resident guru Kovid Goyal does a fabulous job of giving support when needed as do many of our members. Take your time, tour around MR, and enjoy your new reader.

Happy Reading.
