Evening, all.

I've had a Sony 505 for about 5 months and love it to death - mostly!!! I think the eBook Library software is pathetic - I can't even amend the titles of the books or the author, which is very annoying.

I live in Sheffield, England, and was really jealous when the Sony was introduced in the US and then took so long to get to the UK. When it did arrive, I was a bit taken aback by the price, so managed to resist for a while, in the hopes the price would reduce, but it didn't, so I bought one anyway!

I'm hoping to get some help on here, so I can arrange my books the way I want them.

Hi Dozy, welcome to MR!

I see that Sparrow borrowed my hat; luckily, I'm blowing a noisemaker today anyway.

Welcome to MobileRead, Dozy!

Calibre is definitely the way to go and Kovid is wonderful about helping when we have questions as are many of our members here at MR. I have a Sony 700 and the information in both the Sony 700 and Sony 500/505 threads has proven incredibly helpful. I use Calibre to convert my ebooks into the correct format and to update the metadata and then use ebook Library to make bookmarks and annotations before uploading to my reader. Good luck.

Happy Reading.

Thanks for the welcome.

I downloaded Calibre and had a play with a few books. I've actually now got them listed correctly - Title, Author (surname first!!) and I've put in a tag so I can have them in collections.

I love the way you can "batch convert" (can't remember the proper term) and correct all the authors' names, etc, in one go!!!
