Hi all, I have run accross this website called www.dittobook.com and looks pretty interesting with their customizable ebook reader called Ditto Book reader. Does anyone has this kind yet? hc. |

Doesn't it, though? And it only supports PDF and TXT files. You'd have to be out of your mind, really. Do we congratulate chanjay on his/her first post? Sheesh. Last edited by khalleron; 07-02-2009 at 09:55 AM. |

Looks like vaporware to me, the website doesn't even list the price.

We know the Ditto Book is a Netronix variant (is that five or six variants now seen in the wild, but only one in captivity - Cybook Gen3). But if you select the Products tab on their website, what is the "F-700 Series" product opposite the "150 Series" Ditto Book? Is that a Q-7 Tablet??? |

At least they are advertising a Delete button. Maybe one that's actually working??? Would be quite some major step in eInk reader technology. |

Yes, that is a Q7, right down to all the specs. I was curious about price, so I called the company and asked. The person who answered the phone got a little flustered and said she had no idea about price, but that she would have someone call me back. The thing that worries me is that you are supposed to fax your credit card information without even knowing the price?? That's really bad marketing. |

Admittedly you are right in noting that for the average person, the value proposition is not an excellent (or even a particularly honest) one. They really should add Mobipocket support, eh JSWolf? - Ahi | |

They did call me back. $249 for both models. I'm not sure, given the fact that they are so similar to other models that are available for less, and given the fact that they are still in "beta" testing (as the man who called back told me), that they are going to be a great success. However, since they did call me back, I would not categorize them as a scam or as vaporware. |
