Pitchman Billy Mays has died. :(

I don't know if anyone out side of the U.S. knows who he is. If you've seen those OxyClean commercials, you know who I'm talking about. His commercials used to drive me crazy because he talked so loud.

I got a chance to work with him last year and he was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. He naturally talked a little loud and couldn't talk on camera without using his hands. He felt so lucky to be able to do what he was doing.

I really liked him as a person.

I know who you mean. have seen his commercials many time..am sorry to hear of his passing ...if you saw one of those commercials you didn't forget them..guess he was the right man for the job..

I really liked him as a pitchman too. I used damn near every product he ever sold and they were all great. Now, him I'm going to miss.

* Billy Mays was on a flight from Philly to Tampa yesterday. The US Airways 737 aircraft that took a hard landing at Tampa International Airport. See http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2...e+tire+blowout

* Billy Mays was scheduled for a hip replacement on Monday

* Celebrity deaths seem to come in threes -- remember Versace, Princess Diana and Mother Theresa in 1997?

He'd just had a hip replacement before I worked with him (I asked him because he was limping). I seem to recall that it was a second one (maybe I'm remembering incorrectly).

Yep ... this is 4. Which means somewhere out there, there are two more celebrities who are walking a very thin line.

And .... dying to avoid a hip replacement is a bit severe, don'tcha think?

Isn't 50 awfully young for a hip replacement? They're saying that heart disease was the probable cause of death. He didn't look especially unhealthy, but you never know.
