Why wont it recongise my reader?

When i connect to the PRS-505 calibre shoots up an error connecting to device message?

Job: **Get list of books on device**
**IOError**: (2, 'No such file or directory')
**Traceback**:
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "calibre\gui2\device.pyo", line 153, in _books

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: u'I:\\database/cache/media.xml'

Any idea what I can do?

Unplug the reader, and turn it on so it will recreate the file. If that doesn't work try creating the directory database\cache.

I have unplugged the device and it even says devide PRS-505 detected inthe bottom left of calibre but i stil get the message. I can't transfer books nor view books on my reader though.

Create the directory where?

The reader has a file in database/cache called media.xml. This file holds the metadata, collections and a listing of files on the device. If the file is not present Calibre cannot do anything with the device. You need to unplug the device from your computer and turn it off. Turn it back on. This should regenerate the media.xml file. If you are still getting the error about it not existing you need to make sure that the database/cache directory is present so it can be generated by the reader. According to that error message it was being detected as drive I.

OK what I have done to get it to work is I have taken out my SD card. It works transfering to the reader but not the card. Looks like I can transfer to reader then sort to my card afterwards.
