A friend of mine who lives in the USVI came to visit this weekend. He was all aexcited aobut his Father's Day present -- a Kindle. I showed him how to come here, downloaded the Mobipocket guide, and Harv and Vera. He seemed hooked and promised to get on MR as soon as he returned home.

So, when Captain Jaime Pinktoe showes up with a hearty ARRGH! and all sorts of newbie questions, let's give him a rousing MR welcome! He's hard to scare, so don't worry about being yourselves.

If he shows up with a different name, I'll be sure to out him, too.

Does USVI stand for US Virgin Islands? If so, I'm very jealous and I bet he doesn't have to garden in the cold rain.

Okay, but if we all knew the inside story on how you/he derived that moniker we may have a bit more ammunition for his welcome. Or do you want him to tell the story in his opening thread, or better yet in the The Bilbo1967 Honorary Trophy thread ?

He was sailing inthe BVI (British Virgin Islands) with some frineds. When he was "napping" (at least that's his current story) a couple of the frineds painted his toenails pink. They were coming up with their Pirate Names and Captain Pinktoe stuck. Now it's his moniker on his website.

Right now, he's a figment of Adrian's imagination, but will become real as soon as he gets back home to the VI (the wanker) and gets bored enough with work to join the rest of us work avoiders here in the llounge. I give him until about 9:05 next Monday. Maybe 10:05 if he goes in to work on time...

I tend to agree with Marc on this one. I think this Corporal Fuschiaface (whatever) is completely noncorporeal. Even if he was real, the poor guy has already been labelled a wo**er and a wanker - can we bear it? Next thing you'll be telling us is that he owns a Kindle. Oh, my god, I see now that you already did! Jeez, this place is sure going down hill in a hurry. I better run and pull the llounge fire alarm and warn everyone.

EMERGENCY! A Kindle-bearing wo**ing wanker is about to approach the premises! Run for you lives!!

Let's just hope that Marc is right and he's just another phygment of you-know-who's vivid imagination.
