Aspect ratio of Kindle cover art?

I have read several tutorials, but have not found the answer to my question. Does anyone know the aspect ratio of the Kindle cover artwork? I am attempting to add my own cover to some text files but my attempts thus far result in small vertical margins on either side.

Actually, it's a 600x800 screen.

No. The 'proper' aspect ratio is 1 by 1. That's one screen width by one screen height!

No, that's the pixel aspect ratio (1:1) and

may involve dpi ...

The screen aspect ratio is the width (600) by the height (800) or 0.75

Some people DO try to complicate a simple question, don't they?

Anyway, if you create your cover artwork in a 4:3 (height:width) size ratio, such as 400x300, 640x480, 800x600, etc, it should look OK.
