System freeze when converting to EPUB
I tried to convert numerous e-books with Calibre (0.5.13 on Windows Vista) to EPUB today, only to have two of my computers freeze up completely on me. I think I've figured out the cause of the problem: there are two books (one TXT 1 MB, one HTML 300 KB) that, if sent to the converter, cause the converter process (calibre_parallel.exe) to gobble up all available memory until the system freezes. When testing this assumption, I've seen the memory consumption rise up to 1 GB within a few seconds before I stopped the job. With other books, the memory consumption doesn't seem to rise above 100 KB.
If developers are interested in identifying this error, is there any other information I can usefully convey? |
