The pictures are the best I have seen of the hardware. I still think the controls are a bit "busy", but it is hard to argue that it isn't worth $170.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would buy it sight-unseen. Does anyone have one of these? Is it easy/comfortable to turn the pages? It's a good price and will read many formats that are typically available.

Yes, I have jetBook and like it very much. I like TFT screen more than e-ink.
I purchased it from NEWEGG for $199.95 long time ago but price $169.95 sounds unbelievable! NEWEGG doesn't charge taxes outside of CA.
I may buy one more unit and present it to my dad for father's day.

"ECTACO jetBook e-Book Reader Deluxe" costs $446

I am SICK and TIRED.
Why do all retailers and manufacturers think that if they sell something in USA for $250 they can sell the same thing in Europe for 250Eur plus tax plus whatever they think European Suckers^H^H^H^H^H^H^HCustomers will pay?

There are a few companies that do a brisk business buying things for you (using a Credit Card with USA billing address) and importing then here.
You still have to pay for handling + shipping + Value Added Tax (approx. 20%, depending on country) + whatever customs officer decides.
In most cases you pay less this way than if you would when you buy from local retailer.

plus take into account that income of someone working full time at Mininum wage is less than 16,000 a year in the US. and there are way too many of these type of people.

If the average income is the same in the UK, I would charge the same price too.
