Ended MacBook for Sale - Vista w/Bootcamp also installed

I'm selling my old Macbook. It's only two years old, so not so old in the life of your average Mac. But I got a new one and so the other has just been sitting around. I was going to give it to my GF but she doesn't want to learn how to use a Mac.

I normally only sell thing locally, but since this is my little community I thought I'd let people know where as well if they are interested.

As I mentioned in my Craiglist post:

For sale is a 2 year old Macbook (1.1). It's in an excellent condition and has been upgraded beyond factory spec about a year and a half ago.

12.5 inch white Macbook. Intel Core Duo 2GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 100 GB harddrive, 64megs vid (I upgraded the RAM and Harddrive about a year and a half ago). It's running the most current version of Leopard, fresh install and I have the drive partitioned with Bootcamp - so it also runs Vista Home Premium. I can either leave that or remove it, it's up to you (if you're interested, I could also install Ubuntu over the Vista install). It also has a CD/DVD reader/writer. Battery is more or less dead, works fine plugged in, but you'll need a new battery for it (available at Apple Store and perhaps Best Buy) if you want to unplug it. Plugin adapter is new, however. Only a couple of months old.

It has new versions of iLife 09 and iWork 09 installed, as well.

This first pic is not a pic of the particular Macbook - but the coloring is right (sorry, my camera doesn't take good indoor pics, everything came out a bit yellowed)
Second pic is the actual Macbook - case is in excellent condition. Small crack in right hand corner (manufacturing defect in this model.)

MacBook works great, still very fast and responsive.

Again... only issue is the battery. Screen has a few tiny smudges (LCD) but nothing at all major. If someone here in this community is interested, let me know (US only, sorry. I don't ship internationally - bad experience!)

On Craigslist I'm asking $550, from anyone here $500 would be fine.

this is a decent price. I see these go for 700 or more on my local craigslist, NYC. usually more

In fact I see a totally broken one, with a bad battery and a broken mother board, with horrible specs going for the same price, 500, right now on NYC craigslist.

Yeah. Unfortunately the market here isn't as solid. I'm actually going to drop the price to $500 on Craigslist - lots of people interested in trading me stuff I don't need and lots interested in purchasing and then I never heard back from!

It is a very decent price, indeed. You should give eBay a try with a starting price of $499 and no reserve...

Yeah, I could definitely make more. But I've had some bad experiences dealing with shipping electronics and I really don't want the hassle unless I know the person at the other end (or have a pretty good idea) isn't a complete bastard.

Also, I once shipped a box of game systems (PS2 and a SNES) and video games to myself and when they arrived most of them were gone. No one would, of course, take responsibility.

So I'm just keeping the sale local and then here on MobiRead. I've someone looking at it today, so here's hoping.
