LOTS of photos of various ebook devicies on flickr

I never thought of it until just now, but I did a couple tag searches on flickr and found a nice variety of shots showing many of the current devices. Most are pretty good at imparting the actual look of the display in real life, not under the idea lighting setup in a studio to make the display background look white as possible (or via postprocessing of the image to adjust the white balance of the background).

Using the tags:

• ebook reader
• ebook device (only 10 results here)

I am sure there are other tags to try. Also, I know there are some redudant shots but the whole point is there are images out there not taken to make the product look other than it does under normal use conditons.

Just thought it is interesting is all.

EDIT: Not knowing flickr's search syntax all that well I originally did two searched but gave the combo search a shot and it worked:

so there it is in one search...

I found this shot, granted it's an XO/OLPC PR photo, but it shows that the current display in the XO looks easily as "easy" on the eyes as the current eink displays:

that's really just a Dictionary that all asians learning English use. I wouldn't count it as a ebook reader. a cell phone can be an ereader, just not effectivly one.

Both right

In their wisdom this is one of Sony Japan's electronic dictionaries with the name of "e-book reader" that appear to use many of the technologies developer for the Clie and Librie before they were effectively killed.

It uses the BBeB dictionary format (like the Librie) and is sold with 10 dictionaries pre-installed and a further 19 on a provided memory-stick. All in a package they consider 'business card size' so certainly too small for me to use as a reader even if it was eInk based.

I would love to see a combination of these features added to the PRS-700, but don't expect to see it anytime soon.
