Commercial program says it can "make your own pdf e-books" - Anyone know about "
A commercial product (from Caisdata) called "Foxonics" advertises that it allows you to "make your own pdf e-books." Has anyone tried this program? It was a recent "Giveaway of the Day." If so I'd love to know your impressions.

The company says that it allows custom pdf output sizes.

In particular, I'm wondering what happens in this program if you print a web page or word document to a pdf formatted for a Sony Reader. Does it reformat the page or does it drop words that extend beyond its print page size?

Can't convert web pages & word docs with Foxonic; it only creates image-based PDFs. From the site:

...convert TIFF to PDF, JPEG to PDF, BMP to PDF, GIF to PDF and PNG to PDF. You can also merge PDF, split PDF, extract PDF pages, and add watermarks, add page numbers, add/change/remove PDF password/permissions and insert URL linking to the PDF file.
It's an image-based PDF creation & manipulation program; most or all of its functions are available through freeware, but possibly not all in one neat package like this. (It's also possible this has image-manip features that most PDF programs don't; it might be able to downsample or crop images in addition to adding metadata to the PDFs.)

PDF is not an eBook format. Don't get fooled by it. And Foxonics is not helping any.
