Protected page message on 505

Following the comments on using the Sony connect outside the US. I installed the US software on another pc & downloaded a couple of $0 free books (.lrx), transferred them to an sd card. I did not want to transfer direct to the 505 from the US software to a UK reader in case I screwed something.

But when I try to read on the 505 I get a Protected page message so can't read them. They read OK in the US Ebook library on that pc.

I remember seeing a thread re protected page but can't find it now or remember if it was relevant.

Anybody help please?

I'm guessing your reader will also have to be registered to the US site in order to read them.

What curly said is right. If you have the reader registered to your UK account, you will need to de-register it from there, and register it to the US account. This will not affect the Digital Editions registration so you will still be able to read and ePubs/PDFs you have bought that use Adobe ID DRM.

Thanks Curly - I thought that might be the case but being new I was not sure if I could register a UK reader in the US & as I said did not want to screw things up

Thanks Bob - I don't think it is registered to a UK account, although to download from Waterstones I had to register digital editions & the reader & wondered if that was the problem - thanks for the clarification.

(as i said last post I have not worked hot to multiple quote yet - am new to Forums)

In the bottom right of each message there is a little icon next to the quote button. If you hover your mouse over it the tool tip should say "multi-quote". Click on that and it will change color. Click on all the messages you want to quote from. Once you are done click on the "Quote button" on any message or the "New Reply" button... each message will be quoted.

Yes thanks to you both that was all it was. The reader was not registered other than DE so I registered it with the US store & it solved the problems.
I thought that would be what it was but asked first to avoid screwing up - great forum this so many knowledgeable people - thank you
